| I have completed a lot of adult health and social courses and I worked in a care home in Gateshead for 3 yrs housekeeping and working with dementia I loved my job but due to Covid and child care had to leave so currently looking for work within these areas

| I have worked with the elderly, individuals with dementia of various ages and individuals with learning disabilities of various ages for over 8 years now. I have completed all mandatory training each year and also done extra training such as dementia, diabetes, food hygiene, mental health awareness, administration of medication and PEG feeding. I also have my NVQ level 3.

| I like contact with people, even though I have no experience with caring for elderly people, for 3 years I took care of my grandfather when he was suffering from dementia, I learn quickly and I am willing to help in any circumstances

| Volunteering with a charity for young disabled adults has taught me how important patience is. I attend sports activities with them and feel gratified seeing them having fun and being independent, something which we all personally take for granted. I also keep an elderly gentleman company weekly, which he enjoys. As a result, I was recently awarded a certificate for 'reliability, good communication and a brilliant attitude'. I help a pupil with autism at school. We play hopscotch in the playground which has expanded her social skills and built her confidence. Working in a dementia unit opened my eyes to the vulnerability, frustration and confused behaviour of these residents. On one occasion I managed to calm an agitated resident by simple means, such as chatting and playing dominoes. These experiences have shown me clearly the importance of caring for emotional, as well as physical needs and being able to communicate with, and relate to, people of different ages and with different social circumstances.

I have worked in residential homes and have experience with mental health, elderly, autism, Down syndrome, and looked after children. I love helping others and having a positive impact on people. I consider myself to be very respectful, reliable and patient. I love meeting new people, learning and growing from all the different knowledge and life story’s that they hold. I understand how Important it is when making this massive life changing decision to hire a carer for yourself or a loved one. Many years ago my family and I had to go through this experience to find a carer for my beloved grandma who was struggling with dementia, it is a massive responsibility and worry when your loved one is hugely vulnerable and you are inviting affectively a stranger to look after someone you love. With all this in mind I like to treat my clients as if they were like family, I care for them in such a way that I would care for a family Member with respect and dignity and always a smile. | I left spain and came back to help my mother look after my gran who lives with Dementia . I was lucky enough to appy for a job within the NHS was offered a post as care assistant in cardiology , in this job I would wash and dress patients , assist with meals take out canulas , I would assist the nurse on shift also dealing with admissions..I have worked in various healthcare enviroments

| I have cared for lots of different disabilities from MS Parkinson frontal dementia Alzheimer’s rheumatoid arthritis palliative care cancer patients. Caring for all different needs always in a kind friendly manner try and go above and beyond treat people how we would all like to be treated whilst keeping and Encouraging people’s Independence and dignity!
