Chemistry Tutor Nottingham

| I have completed a Medical Science degree at the University of Nottingham and am now in my fourth year of medical school. I have a passion for Science and am patient, flexible and understanding as a tutor. I achieved 11A*s at GCSE and have good time management skills. I also completed A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Geography as well as an AS Level in Geography. Other than Science I am creative and sell art work to make extra money. I have also had a university radio show for 4 years. I have had lots of previous experience with childcare.

| I come from a strong background in Mathematics and Chemistry with PhD in Chemistry. I have been teaching a wide spectrum of students for 10 years now. Currently, I am teaching Chemistry and Mathematics to BTEC Level 3 student and Chemistry and Biology to the A-level student. Recently, my former student procured a distinction (D3) in all her assignments.

| I have been tutoring for 2 years and have experience with students from Key Stage 1 & 2, 11+ and GCSE level. I can also tutor Chemistry and Biology A-Level. I am keen to tutor as I love seeing students progress, feel more confident and succeed!

| I have lots of experience working with young children as well as coaching older children with their studies too! I consider myself a fun and practical tutor, who tries to ensure deeper understanding of subjects using alternative methods of teaching, for example through images and stories. I can also teach the 'Memory Method' which aims to improve long term memory and reduce revision time overall. Furthermore, I ran the chess club at my secondary school, in which I helped students aged 11-18 improve their game and enjoy chess! At school, I was a Chemistry Ambassador and frequently helped out in the science department, helping students understand their work and building on their curiosity relating to the sciences. I was an 'Accelerated Reader' reading buddy in school, and one of my students improved their reading age by two years with just under two months of my tutoring!

| My name is Sarah, I am a twenty-year-old university student studying to become a teacher. I have lots of experience helping with homework and being a tutor. I worked as an English GCSE tutor for two years and taught my primary/GCSE age siblings through the COVID pandemic. I have lots of experience planning lessons due to my course and I have a great knowledge of the curriculum. I also got fantastic grades in my exams. I received 13 GCSEs at grades A*-C. For A-Levels, I studied Chemistry, Biology, German, and Welsh Baccalaureate, for which I received A, A, A, A*. I also got entry onto a medicine degree and completed a year of it before deciding teaching was my true passion. For the first year of my teaching degree, I was ranked as a first-class student and I passed my placement above the expected standard. I cannot wait to work with you.

| I am currently a second year student, studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nottingham. I've achieved high grades throughout my academic career: Alevels : Mathematics, A*; Further Mathematics, A; Chemistry, A; Physics, B GCSE : Mathematics, 9; Chemistry, 9; Physics, 8; Biology, 8; English, 7 I have extensive access to past paper questions, to help my students achieve high grades. Being young i am able understand my students on a social level, creating a comfortable environment for them and myself. I have a passion to help students achieve the best grades possible. I am happy to offer first lesson free to gain an understanding of my student and where we need to focus our efforts. I have tutored GCSE students whilst studying Alevels. I've been able to keep my lessons fresh and exciting, by relating the subject to what I'm currently studying as it is interlinked giving my students a boarder view on what they are studying.

| Since I was 16 years old I've tutored a people science and maths, ranging from aged 10-16. What I've often found is having done the subjects recently myself, sometimes the way I have learned things and teach them can be easier for the student to understand. I like to think I'm super friendly and smiley and make sure the student never feels embarrassed or nervous to try and answer questions even if completely wrong. Like in life, often the best way to learn is through mistakes so I believe encouragement of interaction between the two of us not just me speaking for an hour is super important :) I have built up such a good rapport with all my students and really care for how they're doing. I'm currently studying medicine but took A level Chemistry, Biology and Maths. I got an A* in physics GCSE and still tutor people today in physics so I'm competent in that too :)

| Personal Description: I am a PhD student researching the potential of Cardiovascular treatment using Biomaterials. Below are a few of my achievements: Selected to attend the EPSRC EHDA Conference (only undergraduate on the course) from 10 others Selected for the 2 month scholarship from The Royal Society from hundreds of others and yet to present at an event. Preparing a literature review article with senior academics with a view for it to be published Attending research and industrial Lectures at De Montfort University (with permission) Reading articles on new methods and ideas in drug delivery Member of De Montfort University Student Union's Voice Committee I've created beginners english classes for students as well as taught biology and chemistry at GCSE level. I look for students who are enthusiastic about learning and who also WANT to do better I can teach in ways in which each student learns at their best, as everyone has their own preferences, whether they be a visual learner or learn via listening. I believe every student has the potential to do well and i have faith that if every student works hard, they can achieve the level of academia they desire.
