Special Needs Care in Huddersfield

| I have experience as a healthcare assistant within the NHS, during this time I worked with people that have many complex needs, such as reduced mobility and speech due to strokes, unstable diabetes, epilepsy, learning difficulties, severe Parkinson and more. I am also a student nurse with only 1 year left of training which has helped me develop a wide range of skills to meet complex care and communication needs, with experience of Pegs, tracheotomy and catheters amongst other things.

| Prior to January 2004, I was living and working in South Africa for the Central News Agency as an Administration Manager, I went straight into work from leaving high school in 1982. My son was attending school at Lindley Infants where I started as a volunteer at the school in 2002; from there I was offered a paid position and undertook training through Huddersfield College and Kirklees Education Services while working at Lindley. In 2015 I left Lindley School doe a bit of a career change in a coffee shop . I enjoy baking and cooking hence the change . In my spare time I like to go walking . My greatest strength is my calm and patient way of dealing with challenging situations.

| While working in education, i’ve been fortunate to work with a range of different ages, from year 5 KS2 to year 1 KS1, this has broadened my curriculum knowledge,I also spent some time as 1-2-1 with our SEN children where I was able to use the curriculum and adapt it so that the children were able to access the work, on top of that I was able to work with children with challenging behaviour and deal with any issues that I may face. I also worked alongside outside agencies such as social workers, health care visitors, I currently have changed roles to 2-1 working with a child with very high complexed needs. I can offer personalised plans for your child!

| I am a empathetic person who is reliable works hard and empowers the people I work with currently I am doing my masters in social work and i did my undergrad in working with children young people and families which i have loved. I have worked in lots of different areas of family support and worked with adults with learning difficulties
