Special Needs Care — DE6, Ashbourne, South Derbyshire
DE6, Ashbourne, South Derbyshire
I have currently graduated from The University of Chester with a 2:1 Bsc Psychology degree. My modules included developmental disorders, psychology of well being, and clinical psychology, and I am now back in Derbyshire and looking for part time work in special needs care. I am currently working part-time with a woman with Cerebral Palsy and assist in dressing, bathing, personal care, hoisting in and out of bed and bath. I also work one full day with her where I assist her at her place of work, helping her with physiotherapy exercises throughout the day. My degree has also taught me the variety and depth of disorders and diagnoses as well as the effects on the individual and their families. This is something I would love to continue to be apart of, creating a positive environment and encouraging independence. From my previous job as a tutor I have learned that I love to listen and to motivate others in achieving their personal goals. I have worked with children with developmental disorders such as ADHD and Autism which I thoroughly enjoyed. Additionally, I would consider myself as hard working, warm and positive, and I would love the opportunity to assist others as this is what I am passionate about.
