Special Needs Care in Loughborough

| I am an 18 year old female, who has grown up in a family where there is two siblings with Autism, and another on the Autistic Spectrum.

| Being a parent and carer to a child with a brain injury I know how hard life can be so I went and worked with adults with learning disabilities and realized how suited I was to this role, I have worked within all different areas of special needs from the young to the very old.

| I've worked for around five years for a lady with ALS-2. She is non-verbal and very physically limited. I assisted with personal care, admin and GridPad3 (communicator) programming. I also work voluntarily in schools for Pets as Therapy (PAT) along with my dog (pictured) teaching children to read.

| Charnwood Respite Services are very proud to be a new business that has identified a need to provide local individuals with a learning disability with the opportunity to move into supported living within the Charnwood Area, and offering an educational based day care provision, to move the learners towards long term employment. Our first home is set in Shepshed, where we will be providing a home for up to 5 individuals. The care side of the business will be managed by a CQC registered care manager, with over 20 years experience. Our qualified tutor has over 10 years teaching experience within this sector, with a Health and Social Care background. Both are passionate regarding their work within the care sector and believe that everyone should have an equal chance to access education and training, good quality care and to be able to work towards improving their independence through the aforementioned avenues.

| I've supported a large range of age groups with special needs and learning disabilities. I know basic makaton, have all my first aid, manual handling, medication and PEG feed training (PEG training needs refreshing). I'm very passionate in what I do and I've worked in care from the age of 17. I have my level 3 qualification in health and social care, I have work experience in an sen school aswell as in supported living and residential settings.

| I was brought up with a down syndrome brother who I deeply love, so after I had my children, I began to work at a college who also house young adults with learning difficulties. I gained my City and Guilds, NVQ 2, Team Teach, Health and Safety, POVA, First Aid, and others. I love my job and get a smile on my face when you see them gain confidence and skills. Also i hold child coaching to gain confidence in this wide world and help with bullying.
