As a midwife I provided practical and emotional support to woman and their families, assessing health needs, implementing and monitoring programmes of care which allowed them to make informed choices. I worked collaboratively with colleagues and other team members in a designated location to provide safe, effective and evidence based care. As a Practising Midwife and RGN within the Woman and Children’s Directorate, Patient Safety, and Quality are at the forefront when I assess, plan and implementing care, therefore enabling woman to have a natural birth experience as possible and a safe supported transition to motherhood.
