I am honest, trustworthy and caring and have allot of experience
| I have cared for both my elderly parents over the last 10 years. My mother suffered from dementia and I have an extremely good understanding of the condition and all it entails, and the worry this can cause family members trying to work and live their lives. When my mother passed away I moved so that I could have my elderly father come and live with me so I could care for him, in his latter years. I enjoyed chatting to him and being able to spend quality time. So many elderly people are passed by and the younger generation don’t have the time or inclination to spend with them. I find time with them incredibly interesting, and rewarding, hearing their stories or just playing a game of scrabble, or having a cup of tea. Just because you’re old doesn’t mean you should be forgotten. Dad and I spent so much time having interesting conversations and I learnt so much about the past, which he enjoyed telling me. I lost my father in March of this year and I find there is a huge gap in my life as he was my focus. If I am able to help another elderly person with companionship I think it would be of great benefit to us both.
