| My experience: Placement at a local Nursery in my home town: I did this placement as part of my college course (Health and Social Care), I did this for around 6-8 weeks. I worked 4-5 days a week 5-6 hours a day. I looked after children from the age of 18months to 4/5 years old. My main responsibilities here were to play and teach the children, feed them, teach them right and wrong and praise them for good behaviour. Babysitting for Family/friends: I did this over a few years, during school holiday, weekends and some weekdays. I would babysit for 4-5 hours a day. I looked after children from as young as 2 years old to children up to 12 years old. My main responsibilities here were, to play/entertain the child, cook for them and feed them, change them, put them down for a nap. Looking after juniors at Sea Cadets (kids club: I was a senior cadet for 3.5 years. Training nights were on Tuesday and Friday for 3 hours a night. I looked after the younger cadets who ranged from 10 years old to 13 years old. My main responsibilities were, teach them how to keep their uniform in good order, teaching them skills, and being there for any of there problems or needs.

Hello, I am Chelsea, I’m currently a student nurse at Northumbria university studying child nursing.
| My experience: Placement at a local Nursery in my home town: I did this placement as part of my college course (Health and Social Care), I did this for around 6-8 weeks. I worked 4-5 days a week 5-6 hours a day. I looked after children from the age of 18months to 4/5 years old. My main responsibilities here were to play and teach the children, feed them, teach them right and wrong and praise them for good behaviour. Babysitting for Family/friends: I did this over a few years, during school holiday, weekends and some weekdays. I would babysit for 4-5 hours a day. I looked after children from as young as 2 years old to children up to 12 years old. My main responsibilities here were, to play/entertain the child, cook for them and feed them, change them, put them down for a nap. Looking after juniors at Sea Cadets (kids club: I was a senior cadet for 3.5 years. Training nights were on Tuesday and Friday for 3 hours a night. I looked after the younger cadets who ranged from 10 years old to 13 years old. My main responsibilities were, teach them how to keep their uniform in good order, teaching them skills, and being there for any of there problems or needs.

| Hi! My name is Lucy and I am 22 years old. I am currently training to be a special needs primary school teacher in Sunderland and would love to have some income on the side. Although I haven’t babysat before necessarily, I have spent everyday in a classroom for the last 2 years working with all abilities and ages (4-11 years). Therefore, I do have a lot of experience being around children and understanding their needs - especially those who have additional needs. I have a degree in English language and so can offer tuition for your children in English (and any primary level subjects) and I also play 4 musical instruments of which I can also offer tuition! I previously worked for the NHS paediatric speech and language therapy team conducting speech and language therapy to children all over Newcastle upon Tyne. I can drive and have my own car so I am able to take your children to their activities if needed - I finish work everyday at 4:30pm and so will be available onwards. | I discovered I was interested in being a babysitter/nanny when I was 15 years old and my aunt, a single mother, had a 2 year old and a newborn with a late night job. I decided to learn and understand what the kids need in order to help her, and I started babysitting them for almost a year till I started with my IB exams. After I finished my exams, I started looking for houses that needed extra help, from neighbors, family members or my parents friends, and since then I have been providing help to the families and care (with fun) to the kids. I find working and being around kids a positive thing in my life as their innocence and energy adds joy to this world.
