After School Care Ivybridge

| I have worked as a meal time assistant and in a before and after school club at primary schools. I have worked one on one with a child to ensure their safety and enjoyment during their lunch break at school. I did my work experience with Ivybridge children's center and currently run sports sessions for school aged children. I babysat for a family of 3 boys for just over a year and have looked after children of a range of ages.

| Hi, my name is Maria. I am 19 and have just started at Plymouth University studying Occupational Therapy. For the past two years I have worked at a children's breakfast, after school and holiday club for all primary school aged children. Alongside this, I attended college to study A level Sociology, Health and Social Care and Performing Arts. I also completed extra courses there, which were level 2 and level 3 supporting teaching and learning, emergency first aid and caring for vulnerable children. I love working with children and would love to do it in the future as an occupational therapist. I have much younger siblings and cousins, so I am used to babysitting and doing activities with children of all ages. I am pretty flexible with times around my lectures, and the occasional weekend I may go home to Hampshire, but apart from that I am happy to babysit some weekends in Plymouth too!

I have experience working at an after-school club where i was responsible for children ages 5-11. During my time working here i completed a child protection and safeguarding course. i believe this is something many child carers cant say they have experienced and will give me the knowledge to provide a safe and understanding atmosphere. I was also responsible for setting up the food area with a healthy snack and was often tasked with collecting the infants and walking them to the juniors. A day to day at the club would also include a range of activities or work help. My time spent at the after school club has greatly benefited me and will be an advantage to anyone i work for because i have gained a wide variety of skills which will help on the job and i am extremely approachable, the children i worked with felt comfortable around me and enjoyed taking part in game and activities with me.

| I have a variety of experience babysitting. This varies between 6 months and up to 14 years old. I began babysitting at the age of 6. I would babysit my youngest brother who at the time was 1 years old. As my family began to realise how responsible I was becoming as I grew up they began to trust me with babysitting their children as well. I also have quite a lot of experience with teaching as well. Teaching was my own main revision method which helped me the most. During my GCSE's and A Levels I studied at an inadequate, below average school. I struggled extremely with my revision and would consistently achieve poor grades. The problem was no matter what I tried (mind maps, posters, flashcards) none of the content would stick in my head. I would revise one day and the next day be unable to recall what I had revised. I then took it upon myself to teach someone else the content I learned. After school I would teach my friends content I had revised the same day. Doing this every day made the content superglue to my brain and helped me so much in exams. A lot of the time my teacher would ask me to teach the entire the class the topic we were all studying on that day.

| Hi My name is Elizabeth. I have more than enough experience as a nanny and babysitter and even nursery teacher. I have the experience by babysitting my niece and nephews and I have also had to opportunity to work with kids almost all my life. I have been working with kids since I got out of high school where I was a nursery assistant for more than one year and was in charge of children after school before their parents come to pick them up and i then went further my studies in education. And after my tertiary study I went ahead to work as a teacher in a school So I have lots of experience in working with kids

I am considered empathetic, bubbly and caring; therefore, I find huge fulfilment supporting children in their educational and social development. Also, I am highly creative and imaginative, so I love ‘mucking-in’ and being able to play alongside any children in my care. I am also a responsible and highly organised individual, which has always helped me within my childcare roles.

I own an after-school and holiday club for children between the ages of 4-14yrs old. I am also setting up a baby sitting agency. I have a degree in play work and 10 years experience with children.

| I am DBS checked and have been a domcillary carer for two and a half years. Although this was mainly with adults, I also have experience with learning disabilities and children as some adults, I have worked with, had children of there own. My current job is working with SEN young people and adapting their needs around education and incorporating life skills. With my university degree i have had the opportunity to attend placements where i have worked regularly with children of all ages. I’d like to gain some more experience with children to support me in the career path I want to follow. I have previously supported one family with three children on weeknights and the odd weekend evening when needed. I am happy to do any light chores, as well as helping with homework, educated fun and food making.

I have worked in a nursery school in London for the last year that has children aged 11 months to 4 years old. I have just moved to Carnoustie and would love to work in childcare full time. At the moment, I am doing occasional babysitting and after school care one day a week with 5 year old twins.

I have my level 1 and 2 in childcare, I have done first aid and safety training as well. I have done babysitting jobs for many other families each child ranging from 0-14. I have experience working with children that have mild learning difficulties. I have worked in many children based settings such as a variety of nurseries and some primary schools.
