After School Care Crawley

| I have been an Ofsted Registered Childminder for the past twelve years. Previously I worked as a Primary School teacher specialising in Key Stage 1 for nine years. I have a breadth of experience and knowledge in how children learn and develop, and I love my job! I have a part-time vacancy from March 2018, have a full-time vacancy from September 2018 for an under five year old. I also have a few slots available for before and after school care for Pound Hill Infant and Junior Schools. I have three daughters of my own aged 8,12 and 14, and my husband is registered as my assistant to help whenever necessary. I create a friendly, caring home-from-home environment where children feel safe and enjoy having fun whilst learning a range of skills and following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). We have busy mornings where we visit toddler groups, the local family centres, parks, the library and much more. After a healthy and nutritious lunch we have a more restful afternoon playing quietly at home before school pick-up time. Then the children of different ages enjoy playing together inside and outside in our fully enclosed garden, often enjoying a craft or baking activity. I have a wide range of toys, games and books, and I regularly borrow toys from the local toy library. I have excellent references from my childminding parents and received a good grading, with outstanding features in my previous Ofsted inspection. I have a range of relevant qualifications including my degree, first aid, safeguarding, and more recent training.

| I have lots of experience with children as I am an involved aunty with 5 Nieces and 2 Nephews ranging ages from 1 years old to 10 years old. I spend let’s of times baby sitting that this is the perfect side job for me! I also have experience in 2 primarily schools volunteering in after school clubs.

| I have two younger family members that I looked after regularly with supervision from 10, and without supervision from 12, including large chunks of the summer holidays. My last job was working in a primary school of over 600 children for almost 3 years, mostly in the office doing admin but also administering first aid, and hygienic care, to those children that needed it. Whilst at the school I also worked within the Breakfast club, and After School club as the cook, providing breakfast for 45 children, and freshly prepared dinner meals for up to 35 children, daily which I really enjoyed. I am waiting to start University in September, where I will be studying for my foundation degree in Montessori Pedagogy, and my batchelors degree in Early Years Education. I am very passionate about Montessori methods, and believe whole heartedly in encouraging a child to develop independence and confidence in their day to day activities, as well as their fine motor, speech, cognitive and physical skills through a range of activities. I am a fun, kind and loving individual who your child will enjoy spending time with. My hobbies include reading, cooking, crafting, journalling, nature walks and family time.
