The care is needed in the morning before and after school when I leave home to to do nursing shifts. I could offer fixed days but they cannot always be promised as I am contracted to work a variety of shifts, including some nights. However, plenty of notice will be provided about the shift pattern. There are other children at the property but as they are much older, and most of them in the secondary school, they will not need to be taken care of. The family owes a dog, a friendly and loyal english spaniel, who needed to be mentioned here.

Our 39 year old son lives by himself in a small house but has suffered for years from severe depression. This has resulted in him having a rather bizarre lifestyle, sleeping a great deal (often till midday) and not taking any responsibility for the usual tasks of keeping the house clean, doing his washing etc. We live nearby to keep an frequent eye on him but my health is not up to managing his house! The excellent “housekeeper” he has had for the past two years has just left after finding full time employment so we need someone who could go in for 2-3 hours per week to keep on top of things. He is a delightful chap, friendly and good natured but depression has really taken a toll on his ability to cope with day to day living.
