She needs a friendly chatty, supportive carer, who will help her with getting up, showered and breakfast (about an hour 9 to 9.15 ish for about an hour - and then also for companionship during the day - so 2 to 3 hours a day to help her get to activities , get lunch, go for a walk, go for coffee, get to appointments. This can be flexible within school hours - we would be looking for 18 to 20 hours a week in total, but it might vary from day to day and with your needs - so can work around school hours etc. Must have own car - Please send me a message to discuss this job further. We are looking for one or more carers to join a friendly, flexible team of family, friends and part time paid carers who help my brother look after his 62 yr old wife Emily who has Motor Neurone Disease. They live in Croxley Green. Saturday night care and some weekday hours with potential for more weekday nights if wanted. Experience with MND an advantage but not essential as training will be given. Emily is a retired special needs teacher and dyslexia assessor who is in a wheelchair with no mobility. With help from her team of carers she very much lives life to the full - she loves the outdoors, trips out and holidays away, socialising with family and friends and supervising work on her small but lovely garden. She communicates with an EyeGaze device, writes a regular blog about her experience with MND and has raised a lot of money for the MND Association.
