We are currently looking for overnight care for our elderly father from Saturday evening to Sunday morning for our elderly father. He is 77 years old and has Parkinsons disease, which affects his mobility. The role mainly requires overnight presence but this is a sleeping night shift, my father has bedtime incontinence wear and there is a monitor by the bed so if he needs anything in the night he will let you know but generally he sleeps through. Our dad is of Indian origin and is fluent in Punjabi, Urdu and English, as he has lived in the UK for over 50 years. We are currently looking for a carer for our elderly father. He is 76 years old and has Parkinsons disease, which affects his mobility. We are looking for a personal assistant/carer to make his lunch, help him do his exercises, drop him off at the day centre (if he's feeling up to going out) and then helping him into bed at 5.30-6pm. To keep his mind active, he mainly watches tv and films and also enjoys playing cards and the odd game of chess. He is also supposed to do 20-30 minutes of light exercise per day and we would like the carer to help motivate and encourage him to do this. The core hours of work would be from 1pm to 6pm Monday to Friday. There will be occasions when he has appointments with the hospital or the doctor and it would be ideal if you can accompany him to these appointments. At the moment, he is independent in feeding himself his meals and he can get around with use of his zimmer frame when he needs to go to the loo. His medication is provided in a dossette box and he takes this himself 4 times a day, although one of the responsibilities of the role will be overseeing this to ensure he is on schedule and ensuring that the doctor is notified when medication is running low and he needs another prescription. He is occasionally prone to falls and he will need assistance at these times. He has a mangar cushion to assist with lifting when he has a fall, and full training on using this equipment with a slide sheet will be provided.
