Hours usually 7 - 9pm Fri/Sat/Sun evenings and Saturday morning 10.30 to 1.30 pm. if covering for main carer some mornings will be required,as well as evenings, and some light house work also ( washing, vacuuming, bathroom ). Must be Dementia friendly, experienced, DBS checked. Friendly staff in house and two dogs.

A full-time housekeeper & carer is sought for an elderly couple in a Wiltshire village house near Pewsey. This is a wide-ranging role which will suit a person or couple with a flexible work attitude and plenty of initiative. the successful candidate will have experience of domestic service, probably including a role with responsibility for overall household management. Experience and/or qualifications in dementia care are desirable, and we are looking for a resourceful and kind individual who can help the family navigate changing needs over time. Housekeeping duties will comprise laundry, kitchen duties (some cooking required), making beds, cleaning, tidying and organising the house, plus odd-jobs and potentially also administrative work e.g. paying bills, sourcing and liaising with tradespeople; whatever is needed to keep the house functioning smoothly. There is a part-time cleaner in position already. Hours required will vary from week to week, especially for family gatherings. The husband has been diagnosed with dementia, and is still relatively independent, but you will also need to be ‘on call’ in case of accidents and falls, and physically competent in this regard. You will occasionally be required to be present in the house while the wife is away or on overnight trips. Some driving is required (car supplied) so a clean driver’s license is essential. The couple have a small dog which needs looking after when the wife is away, so it is important that you are responsible and dog-friendly.
