I am posting this ad, as the person we hoped to have join us pulled out at the last minute. We are a 56 year old couple and we are also hosting two Ukranian guests (mother and 14 year old boy), who speak good English. We also have an 23 year old son living with us who is is an engineer. I am a teacher and my wife is not able to work as she has Parkinson's, so she often at home alone during the day. We live in a large house in a nice neighbourhood. We are looking for someone to live in for free, and we would pay for food and bills. What we are looking for is someone who will be able to help out around the house as a cleaner and act as a companion to my wife. I estimate the cleaning role is about half an hour a day, and the caring role is about two and half hours a day. This arrangement has worked successfully for the last couple of years. The role would suit somebody who is works from home (we have good internet access), or someone who works in the evenings. All household members contribute to the upkeep of the house and we have a culture of helping each other out. Although the actual time required from you would be around around 15 hours a week, the real value to us is to be able to help out when my wife is "stuck" and to chat over a cup of tea, or going for a walk. The main activities are helping with breakfast; going for a local walk along the river; taking my wife to the local gym, and occasional help with public transport. In addition, half an hour a day of household cleaning such as hoovering or doing the washing. Parkinson's is a movement disorder and most of the time the medication she takes deals with the symptoms, but a few times a day she is "OFF" and this when she is "stuck" and benefits from an able-bodied person. You would not be required to be around at weekends or during school holidays, as I am at home then. In addition to English, I speak Spanish and my wife speaks English and French. Obviously, we are looking for the right person, and we are flexible about coming to a mutually beneficial arrangement. If you are interested, get in touch by email, telling us a bit about yourself.. I am looking for a responsible, reliable, elderly care provider with a few years experience who lives near Shepherd's Bush/Hammersmith for a 77 year old gentleman with Parkinsons. He lives alone and needs support in various ways. Currently he can still look after himself and cook but this may change in the future. Possibility of live-in in the future.

My elderly mother lives in Fulham and needs a kind carer on a daily basis, Monday to Friday and some weekends as and when required. The applicant must be experienced, patient, compassionate, an excellent listener, able to use their own initiative and follow instructions. Two references and a DBS certificate are required.
