We're looking for someone to help our Dad following the recent passing of Mum.

Dad lives in a new assisted living development in Headingley and we'd like someone who could be available evenings from around 5.30pm to around 10pm most evenings to help out. Ideally we'd like someone relatively close who has some flexibility - there maybe times we need more or less help, as there are carers available where he lives, but they are not always available.

Dad is a relatively fit 77 year old but sadly his memory has deteriorated - Mum was here for him and answered all his questions and made sure he was where he was supposed to be as well as providing company. The Carers provide showers, give him his medication and take him for his meals. What we are looking for is someone to keep him company, watch TV with him, make him cups of tea, talk to him and answer his questions, maybe help clean up a bit, go for walks around the Gardens and possibly get him ready for bed.

We have on site care sorted for most of the day, meals are provided and there is help to make sure he gets to meals etc.

We're looking for someone who will come in to see him after tea time (c. 5.30 pm + look after him / keep him company for the evenings and make sure he's ok and then get him to bed around 9.30 / 10 pm. There are events / doo's on some evenings and the flats and people there are lovely.

Dad is very jovial and content - he's not really aware of what's happened and we'd like someone who will enjoy keeping him company on an evening and making sure he's ok. We'd like to hear from you if you have relevant experience, are local and interested in this kind of position.
