I recently took early retirement from palliative nursing after 30+ years. ( I am 52 so still young enough to try something new) Taking a break while deciding what to do next but keen to stay connected and productive. I have 2 daughters 24 and 23. ( yep...empty nest ) I regularly help friends with babies and small children, including twins. I had enhanced DBS clearance for my job and have completed Red Cross first aid training in for babies and children. People tell me I bring a sense of calm and fun and many friends have told me I should have worked with children. I feel I can devolop rapport and engage well with toddlers and children. I know how daunting and overwhelming a new baby can be and hope i can bring a steady and reassuring presence or even just another pair of hands. I have a chocolate Labrador dog called Charlie, have joined a gym, enjoy yoga and wholefood cooking, am growing my own vegetables and have joined a choir ! I am flexible with availability and times. I currently look after 2children ages 4 and 7 before and after school and occasional few hours with 10 month old twins.
